Teeth Whitening – A Simple Dental Procedure
How many cosmetic procedures do you go through on a regular basis? Probably dozens. Every part of your body is targeted by some cosmetic alteration, making you look better than usual. Some are meant to enhance what you already have, and some are designed to get rid of the effects of aging. Take teeth, for example – as you grow older, they begin to lose their color and fade into the shades of yellow. Most people accept that as a finished fact, but if you’re smart you can do something about it and get rid of those effects.
Teeth whitening is the solution
Teeth whitening – or teeth bleaching, as it’s also known in the industry – is a procedure designed to clean your teeth finely, removing any stains and discolorations, and returning the white shine of your teeth. If you perform this at least once a year, your teeth should remain white at all times, and no signs of aging will show up. Of course, this will vary greatly if you smoke or drink coffee, but otherwise you should manage to keep to that time.
Internal bleaching
Sometimes however, regular bleaching is not enough. You may need something with a little more edge, something to totally remove those tough stains and make your teeth look like new. Internal bleaching is the answer to that. Compared to regular bleaching, the internal variant relies on penetrating the tooth deeply first, and then working out towards the edge. It has many advantages over regular bleaching, as it is able to clear out any stains, regardless of how deep they are. However, one major disadvantage is that it has to be performed by injecting the bleaching agent into the tooth – and this may cause discomfort to some people.
In the future
There are many developments going on in this area right now. In the future, teeth bleaching will be much more than just about the bleaching. It will be a way to completely transform and renew your mouth, and give yourself the feeling of youth again. For example, one thing currently in development is a remineralizing solution, which will restore your teeth and rebuild any lost tissue. The advantages of this are numerous, and you’ll basically not only be cleaning your teeth from various stains, but you’ll also be rejuvenating them and restoring them to their original state!
